Product Description

(Sorghum bicolor) Heirloom cane sorghum first introduced by T.W. Wood and Sons Seed Company of Richmond, Virginia. Early-maturing, 7 to 9-foot-tall plants are traditionally pressed to release a sugary, green juice that is then strained and cooked down into a thick, sweet syrup. Commonly grown as an early season variety in the South. Also great for short season climates. Plants have a bit of a tendency to lodge if not harvested early. 100 days to harvest. 100 seeds per packet. CULTURE: After danger of frost has passed, sow seeds 4" apart, 1/2" deep in rows 30" apart. Under ideal conditions, germination will occur in 7-10 days. Once seedlings are established, thin to one plant every 8".
