Beautiful - Large full-color packet of Straightneck Yellow Summer Squash (Cucurbita pepo) seeds. Prolific early summer squash with yellow skin and a tapered straight neck. Delicious sweet fruit is perfect for grilling, sauteing, and frying. Bushlike plant makes harvesting easy. Minimum of 3.5 g per packet (about 30 seeds).
Productive - Squash germinates in 10-14 days when soil temps are 65-75°F. Plant 1” deep and space 24-36” apart in an area with full sun. This variety will grow 2-3’ tall with a spread of 2-3’. Fruits will mature in 45-70 days, plant in USDA zones 3-12.
Good Eats - Fresh summer squash is delicious sauteed in butter with a little garlic. It is also a wonderful addition to Italian lasagna, Asian stir fries, Middle Eastern curry, sweet breads and even pancakes. So many ways to use this versatile vegetable. This compact variety is disease resistant and could be grown in a container on your deck. It also does well planted in late summer for a fall harvest.
